Preparing for your first appointment at Sievers Sports Medicine
Before your visit, make a list of questions you’d like to ask during your first meeting and call our office ahead of time to verify your insurance benefits at 575-226-3023.
You will register at the front desk when you arrive at our office. We’ll ask for your insurance information and any other paperwork you may have brought with you (i.e., referral, X-ray or MRI report, or other medical reports). Be prepared to talk about your medical history, previous treatments, limitations you’re dealing with, and other relevant details.

No, you do not need a referral, but we welcome referrals from other healthcare practitioners and physicians.
Thanks to Direct Access, you do not need a doctor's referral or prescription to receive treatment from a provider. Direct Access is the legal right that enables patients in all fifty states and the District of Columbia to access sports medicine services and programs directly.
Do keep in mind that Direct Access does not apply to insurance carriers, who may require a referral or prescription. Reach out to your insurance provider to confirm the details.
How long is a typical appointment?
Appointments usually last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the nature of the visit.
