Exploring the Benefits of StemWave Therapy
How This Cutting-Edge Device Benefitted Three of Our Patients
An active lifestyle can come with some physical challenges. Whether you’re a competitive athlete or just someone who enjoys a good workout, injuries and chronic pain can stand in the way of performance. That’s where the StemWave device comes in! This effective, noninvasive treatment combines advanced technology with proven therapeutic techniques to help relieve pain and discomfort from common sports injuries.
To illustrate the many benefits of StemWave therapy, we want to highlight three patient stories (their names have been changed). If you think you might benefit from StemWave at Sievers Sports Medicine, schedule an appointment with us today!

Exploring the StemWave Device In More Detail
StemWave is a unique therapeutic tool that uses acoustic waves to promote healing and reduce pain, particularly for conditions like muscle strains, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and joint pain.
It generates high-energy sound waves that penetrate deep into your body’s tissues, stimulating blood flow and encouraging the body’s natural repair processes. By targeting the root cause of pain, it offers an alternative to more invasive procedures such as surgery or long-term medication use.
How StemWave Works to Optimize Recovery and Function
The StemWave device uses three primary mechanisms to promote healing:
Increased Blood Flow
By stimulating circulation, StemWave ensures that injured tissues receive the nutrients and oxygen needed to repair themselves.
Breaking Down Scar Tissue
Accumulated scar tissue can limit movement and prolong pain. StemWave helps break it apart, restoring function.
Cellular Stimulation
The acoustic waves activate cells responsible for tissue regeneration, helping to facilitate your body’s healing process.
These effects combine to address the root cause of pain rather than masking symptoms. Moreover, treatments are quick and require no downtime, making them ideal for busy athletes and active individuals–like the three patients we recently helped using StemWave therapy.
Mark’s Story: Facilitating Recovery After a Sprain
Mark, a soccer player in his 20s, recently suffered a moderate ankle sprain during a match. Mark knew he needed to fully rehabilitate his injury to help keep his ankle healthy, and we suggested StemWave as the first step in that process.
StemWave targeted the injured ligaments in Mark’s ankle, promoting improved circulation to the area, which helped address pain and inflammation. Within a few sessions, Mark noticed reduced swelling and improved range of motion in his ankle, allowing him to maximize his prescribed physical therapy rehabilitation sessions.
Sara’s Story: Relieving Chronic Tendon Pain
Sara is an avid runner in her 30s–but she’s struggled with Achilles tendonitis for years. Although she tried different treatment options, including anti-inflammatory medications, her pain persisted (and limited her running schedule).
We recommended she try StemWave. Sara’s tendonitis stemmed from microtears in her Achilles tendon. The treatment facilitated the repair of these tears while stimulating college production, improving her tendon’s elasticity and strength.
Sara began to feel pain relief by her second session. By her fifth treatment, she could complete a 5-mile run without discomfort.

Derek’s Story: Treating Plantar Fasciitis
Derek is a long-time fitness enthusiast in his early forties who came to us to help address his plantar fasciitis, which he’d been struggling with for months. Fortunately for Derek, plantar fasciitis is one of the most common conditions treated with StemWave therapy. We targeted the inflamed fascia in Derek’s foot that was causing him pain. The acoustic waves stimulated the breakdown of scar tissue while boosting circulation to the area, helping to reduce inflammation and promote healing. After several sessions, Derek noticed a significant decrease in his pain levels, making it much easier for him to perform high-impact activities.
Why Should You Consider StemWave Therapy?
StemWave is a great option for managing sports injuries and chronic pain. Here’s why:
It’s completely noninvasive.
The device delivers the sound waves via a wand that our technician will run over the skin of your affected area–no needles or surgeries required!
Treatment plans are customizable.
We can easily target specific areas and adapt your treatment to meet your specific needs.
It’s backed by research.
Several studies show that StemWave provides measurable results for both acute and chronic conditions.
